Smile Angel Fund is a public fund under the “Angel Program” of the Chinese Red Cross Foundation (CRCF), founded by a famous super-star couple, Mr. Li Yapeng and Mrs. Faye Wong. This fund was created to help poor children with cleft lip and palate.

There are 2,400,000 children with cleft lip and palate in China in total; Many of them from poor families who cannot afford to the operations necessary for their children. According to the result of China’s Birth Rate Defects Test Center, between 400,000 to 700,000 children are born with cleft lip and palate in 466 hospitals every year in China.

In order to help those children with cleft lip and palate, Mr. Li Yapeng and Mrs. Faye Wong donated RMB 1 Million to set up the “Smile Angel Fund” in Nov. 2006. It is the first fund in the name of individuals in CRCF.
