The medical aid programs of CRCF, the “Angel Program”, was established in August 2005. Its purpose is to improve the living and health conditions of poor farmers and children, to arouse public attention to the rural health condition problems, and to raise funds and necessary materials. The program also aims to supplement the government’s efforts to take care of the minorities in the poorest areas by building up village clinics or town hospitals, training village doctors, and assisting in the treatment of serous diseases of poor families.

The range of the aid programs include Leukemia, congenital heart disease, cerebral palsy, cleft lip and palate, deaf, cancer, and other city sub-health diseases, which amount to more than 10 diseases.

In the latest two years, the program has experienced significant progress in fund-raising and granting.

According to the data as of Mar 2008, the program has received donation of RMB 250,000,000, which was used to set up 338 village clinics and town hospitals in remote area of 27 provinces, provide free training course to 321 village doctors, provide medical assistance to more than 5000 poor peasants and children who were suffered from leukemia, congenital heart disease, cerebral palsy, cleft lip and palate, deaf, cancer, etc.

With continuous improvement and development, it is awarded the Chinese Charity Award for public welfare projects and becomes one of the most famous public projects of China.
