18 Mongolian children with congenital heart diseases received surgical treatment in Hohhot
 

On the afternoon of December 3, the event was held at the People's Hospital of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region for greeting the second batch of children with congenital heart disease. Their treatment was sponsored by the Mongolian Action under the Angel's Journey -- the Belt and Road Humanitarian Aid Plan for Children with Severe Diseases.

Mr. Wang Rupeng, VP of RCSC, Mr. Ouyang Xiaohui, Vice Chairman of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and President of RCSC Inner Mongolia Branch and the delegation led by Ms. Nordov Bolormaa, Secretary General of Mongolian Red Cross Society from Ulan Bator visited the children at the wards of the cardiac surgery department. They sent the Hero's Vital Package to the children, which were prepared by the RCSC, including toy, stationery and books. After received the gifts, kids showed an innocent smile.


At the meeting room of the People's Hospital of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, the delegation led by Mr. Wang Rupeng heard Mr. Sun Dejun, Hospital Director, and Mr. Li Wei, Director of the Cardiac Surgery Department to introduce the disease conditions of these children patients and their treatment plan.

Mr. Wang expressed that the RCSC implements the Belt and Road humanitarian aid scheme, treats children with congenital heart disease from Mongolia and Afghanistan and provides humanitarian aid to 23 countries alongside the Belt and Road Initiative, such as Syria and Iraq, with a view to building a community of shared future for mankind proposed by President Xi Jinping and participating in the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative. The second batch of Mongolian children with congenital heart disease will be discharged from the hospital soon. This scheme increases the friendship between China and Mongolia and promotes people-to-people ties between two countries. The RCSC would like to work with the Mongolian Red Cross Society to continuously strengthen the cooperation in the humanitarian sector and provide local people in need of help with more humanitarian aid.


Ms. Nordov Bolormaa, Secretary General of Mongolian Red Cross Society, expressed her heartfelt thanks to the Red Cross Society of China Inner Mongolia Branch and the People's Hospital of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. She said, the Belt and Road Initiative and jointly building a community of shared future for mankind provides many humanitarian services and support for the Belt and Road countries. She hoped that the Red Cross Society of two countries could continue to the cooperation in the humanitarian sector in the future.


On behalf of patient's parents, Dolge, the father of Marelemove, a two-year kid with congenital heart disease, made a remark. Marelemove was diagnosed with having congenital heart disease after ten days of the birth. He received treatment at the 3rd Hospital and Maternal & Child Health Hospital of Mongolia. However, he was advised of not being inoperable. On October 20, 2018, Chinese Red Cross foreign aid medical team arrived at Ulan Bator and carried out the second aid action for screening congenital heart disease. Marelemove had a chance to receive free surgery in Inner Mongolia. Now, the kid had completed operation and well recovered. He played in the ward happily. Dolge very thanked for the selfless help given by Chinese friends.

This visit was accompanied by Mr. Xu Hongzhi, Secretary of CPC Committee and Director of Health and Family Planning Commission of Inner Mongolia, Hospital Director Sun Dejun, Mr. Liu Xuanguo, Vice Chairman of Chinese Red Cross Foundation and Ms. Wang Fang, Secretary of CPC Committee and VP of RCSC Inner Mongolia Branch.

The Mongolian Action Plan for the 2018 Angel's Journey -- the Belt and Road Humanitarian Rescue Plan had received 47 patents to receive free treatment in China. Among 19 children received the treatment at the People's Hospital of Inner Mongolia in the second batch, except for one child gave up the operation due to family reasons, the rest 18 children had been successfully received the operation. All children returned Ulan Bator on December 10.

Previously, 28 Mongolian children with congenital heart disease in the first batch of 2018 Mongolian Action under the Angel's Journey -- the Belt and Road Humanitarian Rescue Plan arrived at Beijing Anzhen Hospital for treatment on the afternoon of November 19. Except for three children without the operation needed, the rest 25 children had successfully received the operation. By December 1, 17 recovered patients returned home by airplane funded by Air China. On November 30, Bayarkimug, Deputy Secretary-General of Mongolian Red Cross Society, accompanied by Liu Xuanguo, Vice Chairman of Chinese Red Cross Foundation and leaders of Anzhen Hospital, visited patients who received the treatment in Beijing and sent the Hero's Vital Package to recovered children.

It's reported that, according to the overall deployment of foreign aid work, the RCSC established the B&R Fraternity Fund in February 2017. Over the year, the Fund has made its presence in 23 OBOR countries. In August 2017, the RCSC signed the cooperation agreement on the Mongolian Action under the Angel's Journey -- the Belt and Road Humanitarian Aid Plan, which specifies the provision of aid to 100 Mongolian children with congenital heart disease. In 2017, under the support of Beijing Anzhen Hospital, Huaxin Hospital and the People's Hospital of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, 53 children with congenital heart disease received treatment. In October 2018, the Chinese Red Cross foreign aid medical team, consisting of Beijing Anzhen Hospital and People's Hospital of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, arrived at Ulan Bator and confirmed 47 patients with congenital heart disease after screening. Of them, 28 Mongolian children with congenital heart disease received the operation at Beijing Anzhen Hospital. 19 patients arrived and treated at People's Hospital of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in Hohhot on November 24.

The Mongolian Action under "the Angel's Journey -- the Belt and Road Humanitarian Aid Plan for Children with Severe Diseases" is jointly sponsored by Buchang Pharmaceuticals and Green Valley Group. Incorporated in 2008, Buchang Pharmaceuticals is a large private pharmaceutical enterprise. It has donated RMB 3 million to support the construction of China-Pakistan Life Rescue Corridor and RMB 8 million to support "the Angel's Journey -- the Belt and Road Humanitarian Aid Plan for Children with Severe Diseases". Founded in 2000, Green Valley Group is a bio-pharmaceutical company driven by innovative research and development. Now, it has donated RMB 10 million to support "the Angel's Journey -- the Belt and Road Humanitarian Aid Plan for Children with Severe Diseases".
