On September 19 local time, the Chinese Red Cross Foreign Aid Medical Team came to the Faqeer School in Gwadar of Pakistan to hold the launching ceremony of "Angel Health Project" into school, which will provide the students free physical examination in batches in the next few months. At the scene, the team members also distributed vitamins donated by the caring personnel of Shanghai.

In December 2017, the Chinese Red Cross Foreign Aid Medical Team provided free physical examinations to over 100 local students. According to analysis of the results, the team members found that the local children鈥檚 body mass index (BMI) was generally lower than the minimum weight standard for healthy children defined by World Health Organization. In the communication with volunteers of the Red Crescent Society and local residents in Balochistan, the team members learned that due to a lack of food varieties in the Gwadar region, especially the lack of vegetables, the local children are in severe malnutrition. To this end, the medical team decided to go to the school, to investigate the nutritional status of Pakistani students in the way of physical examination and questionnaires, and provide timely medical support services to further improve the health of local children.

After learning about the lack of food and malnutrition for local children, caring personnel of Shanghai raised more than 2,000 bottles of vitamins within two days and entrusted the medical team to distribute them to local schools. At the event site, the medical team distributed 1,200 bottles of vitamins to the students. In this regard, headmaster of the Faqeer School, Younas, expressed his thanks to them "Work of the Chinese Red Cross Foreign Aid Medical Team has played a vital role in the health of our students. The school students and I will always remember them." Next, the remaining vitamins will also be distributed on other schools.

In the afternoon, the medical team conducted physical examinations for the first batch of over 20 primary and middle school students of Faqeer School. In the conversation with the school teacher, the team members learned that this was the first time for the children to participate in physical examination. The children were very excited and curious about all the examination items. At the same time, the first blood drawing also made many children fear. But with the encouragement of the medical team members and the attraction of candy, each child has completed the blood drawing staying strong, and once again gave a sweet smile after getting the candy.
