In the evening of August 16, Red Cross Society of China together with its subsidiary Chinese Red Cross Foundation coorganized a fundraising performance for Zhouqu at the National Culture Palace themed "Care is for Zhouqu, Love is boundless". Ms. Liu Lanfang, Chairman of the Chinese Folk Performing Artists Association, presented a proposal calling for care and help to people in Zhouqu from all corners of the society. Thousands of people and leaders from various sponsoring units attended the event including Mr. Wang Wei, Executive Vice President of the Red Cross Society of China.

The evening's program was conducted by Niu Qun and Liu Fangfei, many famous folk artists presented specialmade performances for the night including Jiang Kun, Feng Gong, Li Jindou, Chang Guitan and closed to 100 other artists. Contributions collected during this benefit performance totaled 34.29 million Yuan.
